On Thursday, 7th March, we had the privilege of bringing together our incredible female equity partners for an open and honest discussion about what it means to be a woman in business—especially as a Managing Director in recruitment.

With over 20 partner businesses led by outstanding female entrepreneurs, we couldn’t be prouder of this inspiring community. Our gathering was a chance to share experiences, challenges, and triumphs, creating a space for raw and meaningful conversations.
A huge thank you to Victoria Roberts—recruiter turned award-winning makeup artist—who led a fantastic workshop, helping us open up, support one another, and refine our personal and professional brands.
Women in Recruitment: Breaking Barriers
Recruitment has historically been a male-dominated industry, and was once seen as a “boy’s club” with a sales-driven focus. While more women are now entering the industry, there remains a significant gender gap in senior leadership roles within recruitment firms.
At Key Selection, we’re proud that this disparity isn’t as pronounced within our equity partners. However, discussions like these are crucial. As women, lifting each other up and learning from one another is essential, especially in business ownership, which can sometimes feel isolating. These gatherings allow for flourishing, insightful conversations about navigating leadership, growing a company, and building a strong personal brand.
A Standout Workshop on Branding & Marketing

Victoria Roberts delivered an incredible workshop on branding and marketing in recruitment. She spoke about how to stand out in a saturated industry, build a strong personal brand, and market yourself effectively as a leader in recruitment. The session was insightful, engaging, and filled with valuable takeaways.
A Community of Support & Strength
A huge thank you to Melonie Debenham for organising this powerful event, and to all the women in recruitment who are breaking barriers and making an impact.
We left feeling refreshed, motivated, and proud to be part of a community that champions support, success, and empowerment.

As we reflect on International Women’s Day (Saturday, 8th March), we celebrate the strength, resilience, and leadership of women in business—not just for one day, but every day.
Here’s to more women leading, succeeding, and lifting each other up!
